Food for Thought: The Honorable Crayfish-feast Day

I received something in my mail box today that kind of got me into a fury, because of such utterly low prices for food. You heard me. Low prices for food, made me boil. Now, everyone screams of how animals that are caught or reared for human consumption are treated poorly and inhumanely. But how many of us stop to question the reason behind it? When the answer for this course of actions is so simple: low prices travel down the chain, it travels to the low-paid workers, then to the animals.

Now, I need to clarify that I am not accusing and pointing fingers at this line of restaurant for being one of those responsible for cruelty to animals that land on our dinner plates. Instead, I am justifying an example of how horrifyingly cheap food can be.

I don't understand economics and, yes, am trying hard to grasp the value of life and harsh life working on a crayfish trawler/ farm. Well, everyone else should go have their crayfish cravings satisfied at this insanely cheap crayfish buffet. But, all I'm asking is for everyone who is saying "How can they torture animals until like that!!" "So mean" "So inhumane", to question how can food get so horrendously cheap, because corners need to be cut in order for prices to go so low.

Now, go have as much fun as you can, crayfishes. Spend time with your family and friends before you end up on the crayfish buffet table...
