spaghetti and fries!

loads to eat this weekend! for a start there's scrumptious cold soba noodles for starters and loads of pasta to go around the table. all specially prepared by shawn's brother-in-law with love, affection and patience. without a doubt, the whole table gives 2 thumbs up. heavy dinner leaves the whole family chilling out on the couch in front of the tv screen.

sunday dinner is a trip to everything with fries at lorong mambong, Holland Village. it's not the best western around but its still worth the try. my opinion: 4 of 6 for ratings.
the place looked lovely. had a vanilla malt shake, which didn't disappoint us a single bit. it was thick, rich and frothy, definitely certain they were real generous with the vanilla ice cream. what followed was a long wait for the food which made us expect more but was seriously disappointed...

i had the grilled ham and cheese sandwich with garlic and herb shoestring fries and coleslaw. while shawn had the cheese burger with sour cream and onion straight cut fries and coleslaw.

starting with mine, the first bite had this punch. flavor-ful and it made me take another bite to figure out whats that sauce that got in it, Dijon mustard. pretty good if you're a fan of mustard. the fries, were honestly bland. shawn seconds that. the coleslaw felt like it lacked something, making it pretty raw tasting, just like some crudely chopped up lettuce with some mayo slapped over it. shawn's burger just felt like any-ol' cheese burger out there. but his sour cream fries were pretty good.

service on the whole was average. a young service crew but not prompt and observant. since service is tabbed, seriously do not see much a point to leave a tip them.

i just wished more effort and love was made into the food, as it generally felt like it was lacking something here and there.
